Susan Stein, owner of Colorful Quilts, has been quilting since 1977 and enjoys the multiple aspects of the hobby. Basing many of her designs on traditional patterns, she has focused for many years on sampler quilts with innovative settings and themes, double wedding ring quilts with surface design and embellishments, and quilts that highlight one-of-a-kind dyed fabrics created by artists around the country. She has authored two books and written many chapters for Singer Sewing and Rodale Press books. Her great joy is getting other people just as hooked on the fun and creativity of quilting as she is. She feels that quilting has opened up new worlds for many people and allowed them to express themselves for the first time.
